Itinerary
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Gama Travel and Tours. After a short briefing, you’ll be transferred to your comfortable lodge in Arusha. Use the rest of the day to relax, recover from your journey, and enjoy the views of Mount Meru in the distance. After an early breakfast, you’ll depart for Tarangire National Park, known for its massive baobab trees and large herds of elephants. The drive takes you through beautiful countryside and local villages. Upon entering the park, you’ll enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch. Keep an eye out for lions, giraffes, zebras, and countless bird species. In the late afternoon, you’ll head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Today starts with a drive to the world-famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After a scenic descent into the crater, you’ll spend the day exploring this unique ecosystem filled with dense wildlife including rhinos, lions, hippos, and flamingos. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed near the hippo pool before continuing your safari inside the crater. Later in the day, you’ll ascend the crater walls and transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, your journey continues into the vast plains of the Serengeti. Along the way, you may stop at a Maasai village or the Olduvai Gorge museum, depending on your interests. Upon arrival in the Serengeti, you’ll begin your first game drive in the park, searching for big cats and the iconic Great Migration herds if in season. Arrive at your camp or lodge in the evening for dinner and relaxation under the African stars.
This day is dedicated to exploring the Serengeti. With both morning and afternoon game drives, you’ll cover various habitats and track the movements of lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and wildebeests. You may opt for a picnic lunch to maximize time in the wild or return to the lodge for a hot meal and rest. In the evening, unwind at your accommodation and reflect on the day’s sightings.
After a leisurely breakfast and a final morning game drive, you will begin your journey back to Arusha. Depending on the arrangement, you may travel by road or opt for a short domestic flight from the Serengeti airstrip. Upon arrival in Arusha, you’ll be taken to your hotel for a farewell dinner and overnight stay.
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the hotel. If time allows, you may visit a local market or cultural center for last-minute shopping. Afterwards, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your international flight home, marking the end of your unforgettable Tanzanian safari experience.
