Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, winding through highland farms and Maasai villages. Arrive at the crater rim and take in the panoramic views before checking into your lodge. The afternoon is free for relaxation or optional cultural activities in the nearby communities. Dinner is served with breathtaking views of the crater below.

After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to Africa’s “Big Five” and teems with wildlife — from large prides of lions to elephants, flamingos, buffalo, zebras, and possibly the elusive black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the Hippo Pool before beginning your journey back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon.
